La designaci\u00f3n \"Q\" significa l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico, y \"235\" se refiere a su l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico m\u00ednimo de 235 MPa (para espesor \u2264 16 mm). Tambi\u00e9n se conoce como acero dulce o chapa de acero com\u00fan, con excelente capacidad de soldadura, capacidad de conformado y rentabilidad, lo que lo convierte en el material m\u00e1s com\u00fan en construcci\u00f3n, maquinaria e ingenier\u00eda general.
