Hastelloy X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum super alloy. This alloy possesses high temperature strength, machinability, and oxidation resistance. The oxidation resistance of alloy X is astonishingly high, reaching up to 2200°F. Additionally, it has been observed that this nickel steel alloy exhibits anti-stress corrosion cracking properties in petrochemical applications. The base hardness provided by the molybdenum content leads to a solid solution alloy with excellent manufacturing characteristics and high strength. Although this Hastelloy X nickel alloy is fundamentally renowned for its heat resistance and oxidation resistance. It has good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, carburizing properties, and resistance to reducing or carburizing environments.
